The Radio Academy ARIAS returned tonight at the exciting new venue in Leicester Square, as Clara Amfo and Gok Wan MBE, took to the stage at ODEON Luxe, to host the most prestigious night in UK audio. The winners of 23 awards were announced, including the highly anticipated new category, UK Audio Brand of the Year and the return of Best New Presenter, John Myers Local Radio Station of the Year and UK Radio Station or Radio Network of the Year. The night also held a few surprise celebrations with the presentation of two notable honours — the Special Recognition Award and Judges' Award — celebrating remarkable contributions to the industry.

Created by The Radio Academy, the charity championing talent across radio and audio, the ARIAS is the leading annual event showcasing the world-leading passion, creativity and voices across the UK audio industry.

This year’s ceremony attracted an impressive guest list from the world of radio, podcasting and music including Greg James, Angela Scanlon, David Olusoga, Nick Grimshaw, Jane Moore, Janet Street-Porter, Harriet Rose, Trevor Nelson, Melvin Odoom, Danny Beard, Ken Bruce, Mollie King amongst many more. Plus, the beloved duo Dick and Dom, who kept the energy high as they hosted the red carpet and interviewed each winner as they stepped offstage.

One of the biggest moments of the evening came as Gary Lineker's production company, Goalhanger struck gold in the brand-new UK Audio Brand of the Year Award category, presented by Trevor Nelson MBE. 

BBC Radio 3 claimed the highly coveted UK Radio Station or Radio Network of the Year Award, while Forth 1, Bauer Media's Edinburgh-based radio station, was crowned winners of John Myers Local Radio Station of the Year, presented by Melvin OdoomBBC Three Counties 'Coldplay go Orange for Luton' won the popular public-voted Radio Times Moment of the Year, presented by much-loved musician Chesney Hawkes.

The Prison Radio Association took home two gold awards -Best New Presenter for rising star, Scout Tzofiya Bolton and The Creative or Technical Innovation Award for her gripping show, The Ballad of Scout and the Alcohol Tag.

In a moment that brought the room to its feet, Content Director at Greatest Hits RadioAndy Ashton was presented the Special Recognition Award for his role in keeping listeners involved with the everyday conversations and inspiring impact on the commercial sector. The award was presented by legendary broadcaster, Ken Bruce, followed by a surprise VT of familiar faces such as Simon Mayo, Jackie Brambles, Lauren Laverne and Shaun Keaveny, who shared their gratitude and memories from over years.

talkSPORT were also honoured with the Judges' Award, a high accolade from the Awards Committee. Bob Shennan commended the station for reshaping the landscape of speech radio and drawing record audiences over 25 groundbreaking years. The award was accepted by Head of talkSPORT, Liam Fisher who said "This is a tremendous honour, the presenters quite rightly get the accolades. This award is dedicated to the producers, the sound engineers and everyone who works on the show."

Further wins across the evening included Apple Music Radio's Classical Connections Radio with Alexis Ffrench for Best Music AwardFix Radio for Best Sonic BrandingBBC Radio 4's Grenfell: Building a Disaster for Best Factual SeriesAudio Always for Pogust Goodhead Dead River podcast for Best Commercial Partnership Award, BBC Radio Merseyside's The Kevin Duala Breakfast Show for Best Speech Breakfast Radio Show and receiving their second ARIAS Gold of the night, Forth 1's Boogie in the Morning for Best Breakfast Radio Show.

It was a night of celebration and unforgettable moments, proving that the UK’s radio and audio scene continues to thrive and set the standard for creativity and innovation globally.
