Are you an audio leader with a passion for promoting excellence in UK audio?

The Radio Academy presents some of the audio industry's most prestigious and anticipated initiatives. We exist to support, promote and celebrate people working in audio and radio. This is an opportunity to work with us to lead the charity's strategy and events, as Acting Managing Director (freelance, maternity cover) over the next 9-12 months.

We are looking for an experienced and well-connected audio leader to work with us, with the position available from end of May for 9 months, with possibility of extending to 12 months. We are the UK audio industry's membership charity and run a busy annual calendar of events, initiatives and resources all dedicated to the celebration of excellence in audio and radio. The successful candidate will lead the organisation's operations and deliver an ambitious strategy to develop, promote and support UK audio and those who work in the industry. They will gain unique insight into some of the audio industry's most high-profile and acclaimed initiatives, including the ARIAS, the Radio Academy Festival and 30 Under 30.

The role is perfect for a radio or audio industry executive with experience operating at Managing Director level, who is comfortable working independently and proactively, with support of a small part-time team and the Board of Trustees. It is a hands-on role that requires event organising experience, well-honed communication and diplomacy skills, and excellent understanding of the radio and audio industry, and the people, groups and companies who operate in it. It is expected that the successful candidate will have a good connection with The Radio Academy, including regular participation in our activity over the past 12 months, and understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing the charity and wider industry.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about the promotion of UK audio and supporting people who work in radio and audio, with a focus on advancing equity and breaking down barriers to access career development at all levels.
