Hugely passionate about the power of audio, I’m keen to use my radio and podcasting experience to help support the continued growth and development of the industry. From Producer at Beat 106 and Head of Music at Kerrang!, to Programme Director at XFM then Editor across BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra, 2 and 6 Music, I worked with Spotify, Audible and more as Director of Content at Listen/Wisebuddah. Currently International Development Director at Acast, helping podcasters grow and monetise their shows, I’m excited to soon be joining the team at ReelWorld as Director of Client Relations and Business Development!

I’ve worked in radio for 33 year; since 2008 with Matt Deegan at Fun Kids radio and MuxCo DAB network serving 24m across England and Wales. I’m a former Radio Academy Trustee (2004-2008) and current Trustee of St Andrews Club and Watercress Line Heritage Railway Trust. It’s challenging time for radio – weak economy, consolidation and BBC pressures means people have to do things better with less support. But radio and audio remain loved by the public. I’m keen to contribute, challenge and promote radio to help ensure it a strong future - and those that work within it have fun.

Hello! I’ve been in audio for about 28 years. I started doing work experience in commercial live radio and am now Commissioning Editor for Comedy and Entertainment at BBC Radio 4. I commission a wide range of formats from dozens of production companies. I’m energetic and well-organised and bring a sense of humour and pragmatism to problems. I’ve extensive experience managing a range of internal and external stakeholders. I’d like to help improve representation behind the microphone and am keen to support the Radio Academy in ensuring the ongoing relevance and importance of audio to the industry and listener.

I have always loved sound and have been an avid radio listener since childhood and through hard work I went from volunteering at a small community radio station in Scotland (Avon FM) to broadcasting to millions via the World Service. I now train and mentor the next generation of audio makers at Goldsmiths College and freelance as an audio producer. I’m passionate about inclusion in our industry and am one of the founders of Multitrack, a charity dedicated to improving inclusion in the audio industry by creating opportunities for people currently underrepresented on the basis of race, class and disability.

I am Martin Steers, a dedicated community radio advocate, eager to bring my experience and passion for the industry to the role of Trustee. Currently Station Manager at NLive Radio and Founder of Bedford Radio, Chair of the Community Radio Awards, & co-founder of the UK Community Radio Network. I am committed to education and skills development, supporting journalism degrees at the University of Northampton and students who want to get involved in radio, and help inspire a new generation of young people as volunteer station manager of Scout Radio the national broadcast radio team for the Scout Association.
Molly Guinness
I’m the executive producer of Times Radio Breakfast and have been judge for the Arias, 30 Under 30 and the Audio Production Awards. We’ve been nominated for best breakfast programme and I was shortlisted for news producer of the year in the Society of Editors awards 2022. I want to represent the people who will recut an entire package to let the birdsong breathe a little more, who think constantly about what will enhance the next five minutes of airtime, the mavericks, the innovators and the night-shifters – and the young ones who have all this to learn.

I love, live & breathe music, radio and sound. Across 25 years, I have been producing, leading and showcasing radio’s ability to connect with underserved communities, through award winning programming, social action, journalism, music discovery, entertainment, talent development and comedy. After 20 proud years at BBC 1Xtra, Asian Network and Radio 1, I am currently Head of Audio for Fire in the Booth on Apple Music. I also run a production company working across the radio, independent and podcast sector. Radio is my absolute first love! - and I am passionate about its future. It is this commitment and experience I bring to the Board of Trustees.
