The Radio Academy Scotland Branch held its Women in Radio event on Wednesday 18th September. Heather Kane-Darling, Lead Editor of Speech & Topical at BBC Radio Scotland asked our panel about their journey into radio, the challenges they’ve faced, and their career highlights to date.
The audience heard some really inspirational stories, and the panel talked openly about issues such as representation, working as women in male dominated environments, talent management and what still needs to change. Heather also took questions from the audience about how we can increase the diversity of voices on the air and how the industry goes about seeking out new talent
