ReelWorld Radio Academy 30 Under 30 list revealed

Today The Radio Academy – the UK’s membership charity dedicated to the promotion of excellence in audio and radio – announced its ReelWorld Radio Academy 30 under 30 list. The list is a celebration of those at the top of their game in audio, and still aged under 30.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Each year the list features the 30 people under the age of 30 who have shown exceptional tenacity, talent and a proven trajectory in radio and audio. They are the people who The Radio Academy thinks will lead the industry into a bright and bold future, demonstrating passion, skill, and an understanding of the medium that shows they have the future in their sights.

Featuring content creators, news editors, presenters, producers, production managers and more, from independent freelancers to those who work at major broadcast and podcast platforms, the 2024 list showcases the sheer breadth and diversity of talent working in the UK audio and radio industry today.

Stars who have featured on the list in previous years at an early stage in their career and gone on to global success include TV presenter Ben Sheppard, Head BBC Asian Network Ahmed Hussain and presenter Emma-Louise Amanshia, who this year presented at the Radio Academy Festival.

This year’s list is no different. The Radio Academy welcomed hundreds of nominations through a highly competitive judging process to present its list of thirty for 2024, which is generously supported by ReelWorld.

Aradhna Tayal Leach, Managing Director, The Radio Academy said:

“I am delighted to announce The ReelWorld Radio Academy 30 Under 30 list, one of the most prestigious and competitive accolades in our sector. Since its launch in 2011, being included in the ReelWorld Radio Academy 30 Under 30 list has become established as one of the great honours of a young audio professional's career, with many of our alumni going on to senior leadership roles in the industry.

The 2024 list features many unsung stars of radio and audio who show huge passion and skill, as well as dedication to our listeners, and to our own audio community. Congratulations to all thirty on this significant achievement and I hope your accolade inspires you to continue in your professional development in our great industry.”

Chairing the 30 Under 30 Judging Committee, Jimmy Buckland, Director of Strategy at News Broadcasting, said:

“As a member of the first 30 Under 30 class in 2011, it’s a special honour to now help lead the judging committee. It has been incredibly inspiring to read through the brilliant and varied applications we received this year.  The thirty young people who have made the 2024 list exemplify the very best of our industry. Their talent and achievements demonstrate that the future of audio is in safe hands.”

Anthony Gay, Managing Director of ReelWorld, 30 Under 30 sponsor said: “The ReelWorld Radio Academy 30 Under 30 remains a highlight of our year. The entire team at ReelWorld is passionate about the power of sound and this initiative is an inspiring glimpse into the future and a reminder why we love this industry.
