Radio 5 Live’s Drive show presenter pairing of Anna Foster and Tony Livesey will be the hosts of this year’s Radio Festival, with Frank Skinner now also confirmed as guest speaker, plus a raft of new sessions and speakers unveiled.
Award winning comedian, Frank Skinner, host of Saturday mornings at Absolute Radio, will be in conversation with fellow comedian and Absolute Radio presenter, Matt Forde. In his autobiography, Frank Skinner said you’d be able to tell his career was in ruins because he’d say he was passionate about radio. Well, he’s just celebrated a decade on Absolute Radio and he couldn’t be happier. Frank will talk about his decade on-air, why he’s most like his real self when he’s behind the microphone and why his is the only radio show to feature an AE Housman alarm.
Radio Festival, which takes place at the British Library on 13th May, brings together leading figures and experts from across the media and UK audio industry, this year talking on the theme of The New Age of Audio?

Camilla Byk, Founding Director Podium: Me, will host an early morning Breakfast session on how to network with confidence – hints and tips to put into practice later in the day.
Beyond The Pod – as podcasts break further into the mainstream, this session looks at the increased monetisation opportunities, from taking your podcast onto the road, to securing your first book deal. Scarlett Curtis of the podcast, Feminists Don’t Wear Pink, Damon Pettit, Off The Kerb and Orlando Mowbray of Harper Collins all feature.

“The New Age of Digital Audio, according to…” with a range of views from the digital world, including Brenda Salinas, of Google News, talking about how Google is using data to customize radio for individuals and how interactivity will be central to the future of radio.
UK Managing Director of Social Chain, Katy Leeson, will share the secrets of being able to make your content go viral in 10 minutes.
They join speakers Greg James, Simon Mayo, Zoe Ball, James Purnell and Digital Minister, Margot James, as well as a host of sessions, with more speakers and sessions still to be revealed.
