A Star In The Making”
The Times Live 2017 TGE review

“Adroitly executed by a young woman who ‘would happily write songs all day, everyday, forever’. No complaints here if they’re all of this standard.”
The Guardian

Jerry Williams is like a female Alex Turner, and I mean that sincerely and in the best possible way. Her talent is raw, poetic, easy, unforced and compelling. Her lyrics are smart, her melodies warm and delicious, together they spin a sugar coated bitter pill of reality”
Fresh On The Net

Matt Wills

As a singer songwriter who pours romance and vitriol into his songs in equal measure and seeks out collaborators from the worlds of electronic music and grime to fuse his sound guitar compositions into something new, Matt Wills stands apart. Since the 2016 release of his debut EP, Hurricane, Matt has garnered across-the-board acclaim.

“My love Matt Wills is the truth and the way. Gonna be massive”
Halsey

“It looks like Matt Wills could be coming for Sheeran’s guitary-rap crown”
Notion Magazine

“Catchy, melodic Indie-Pop... loving this one”
Huw Stephens
(BBC Radio 1)

“Love, love, love!”
Luke Pritchard: The Kooks

We were also joined by several of our judges, including Chris North and Anthony Gay, MD of ReelWorld, who talked about the importance of fostering young talent and the tremendous value of the competition.

Also in attendance were 2016's 30under30 Alumni, who talked about how winning the competition has influence their careers, and gave some tips and tricks to this year's hopefuls in the audience.

Taking place within the after party of 2017's Radio Festival, there were plenty of big industry figures also in attendance to network with, including Director General of the BBC, Tony Hall.

Smile, you're on camera!
