The Radio Academy is pleased to support Local Radio Day - shining a light on the incredible service that local radio provides communities up and down the UK.
Local Radio Day is an occasion to not only revel but also to strengthen the connections that local radio brings – to communities, to industry professionals, and to individuals.
The seventh annual Local Radio Day is taking place this Friday 21st October. This year's theme is Celebrating The Sound, and in order to celebrate and showcase the fabulous work that goes into local broadcasting, Local Radio Day will be hosting a pop-up radio station called Sound Radio UK.
For one month, starting on 21st October, the online station will broadcast five-minute packages of top-notch audio contributed by every participating radio station. If you want to take part, please contact the organisers via the website.
