I had the genuine pleasure of knowing Tim for many years since my days at Chiltern Radio in the 1990s. We all looked up to him even then as a giant of the industry who was a pioneer of the early days of radio in the 60s and nurtured talent including Kenny Everett and Tony Blackburn. Over the years, he grew even more in stature and many of us regarded him as a mentor as well as a friend. He had immense knowledge of radio and a truly wonderful, calm, gentle and persuasive way of dealing with any problems, bringing people together and finding consensus. All that and a true gentleman too, always having time for advice to newer people in the industry. We shall all miss him greatly. RIP Tim.
