The qualification period for submissions is July 1st 2017 to June 30th 2018. Programmes/activities/initiatives must have been broadcast/published/taken place during this time frame. We open the ARIAS for entry mid to late June each year [ARIAS 2018 is open for entries now!] and detail on here what you need to do. Check out all of the information included in the ARIAS sub-section to ensure you're across all of the categories, rubrics and qualifying criteria before you start. It's very important to note that the ARIAS are staged by The Radio Academy for the whole of the audio and radio sector, it's significantly cheaper to enter if you're a Member of the Academy, but the ARIAS are not exclusive to Members.
Tip: If you work for a Patron, don't forget you get 'complimentary' membership of the Academy, but you must register with us to activate it before you enter. If you don’t qualify for 'complimentary' membership, joining the Academy and getting the discounted entry fee, is still a lot cheaper than paying the non-members entry fee!
When the ARIAS are open for entries, it's simply a question of completing the entry form and submitting your audio and support material on our online platform and paying the entry fee before the closing deadline.
Tip: Many people leave it until the last minute, in 2017 we took many, many panicky calls from those trying to complete on the final few hours. Technical hitches at their end, user error and the odd wobble on the entry platform due to the sheer number of submissions all caused a lot of unnecessary stress. If possible plan ahead and get in at least 48hours before deadline if possible.
Closing for 2018 entries is Monday 6th August at midnight but we always advise to get your entries to us with plenty of time to spare!
