
Our Festival Host - Aasmah Mir
Aasmah Mir is a Sony Gold Award-winning broadcaster who has worked in TV and radio for over 25 years. She is the co-presenter of the Breakfast Show on Times Radio with Stig Abell. Before that she co-presented Saturday Live on BBC Radio 4, having won Sony Gold twice for 5 Live Drive with Peter Allen in 2011 and 2012.
Born and brought up in Glasgow of Pakistani heritage, Aasmah graduated in law from Bristol University. At the age of 22, she started work as a graduate trainee with STV in Glasgow. Two months later she became a newsreader, eventually reporting for ITV’s Tonight programme for five years. Her memoir ‘Voices’ will be published by Headline Books in 2023.
