“Cel-e-brate good times, c’mon!”

What a fantastic couple of weeks we've had with this years Reelworld Radio Academy 30 under 30 announced, followed by the shortlists for the ARIAS 2017 - many congratulations to everyone who’s made these inspiring lists.

The #RWRA30 recognising young and emerging talent in all disciplines of radio & audio, provides such a wonderful platform for those making their way in the industry and never fails to inspire and humble those of us who no longer qualify. It also provides invaluable inspiration and opportunity for the 30 chosen. Our 2016 30u30 alumni Juliette Nicholls put it best…………

Following on from #RWRA30, we had the shortlists announced for #UKARIAS17 live from the Next Radio Conference by Virgin Radio’s @katelawler and @MattRichardson3

21 categories with 6 shortlisted for each, chosen from over 700 individual entries, by over 100 judges - the ARIAS are the blue ribband awards in UK radio & audio today. In addition we have 2 categories voted on by Radio Academy members, ‘Individual of the Year’ and ‘Team of the Year’ and you can still vote here.

If anyone was unsure about why we put on such initiatives, to recognise and celebrate people doing great work in our industry, check out what just being included on the shortlists means to a couple of them……

These two hugely popular Radio Academy initiatives are being celebrated at one huge party on the 19th October at the Arena in Leeds, hosted by BBC Radio 1’s Scott Mills and it’s FREE for Radio Academy members. Register for your free ticket here.

Over 2,000 people attended last year, making it the biggest celebration of sound around and the most attended UK radio awards evening ever. It’s not like anything that’s gone before it, it’s a big production show of top showbiz entertainment, where us ordinary folk get to mix with the stars, be immersed in the collective positive atmosphere of those celebrating success and have a fantastic night with friends and old colleagues. The great and the good are all in Leeds on the 19th October, c’mon and celebrate the good times with us.

See you there!
