18th May 2012
WOW! We've just about caught our breath after Monday's Sony Radio Academy Awards - we had such a great time! Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to everyone who came and made it such a very special night.
Huge thanks in particular to everyone on the Committee, all the Judges, and the Trustees of The Radio Academy; Smooth Operations and ACP Productions for producing the event; Chris Evans for being a truly brilliant host; Gary Barlow, Jessie J and Alexandra Burke for some real stage magic; Mandy O'Connor and Riza Jones for being event organising goddesses; and to Helen Hague, Elizabeth Honan, LD Communications, Radio Today, Smart People, Thoughbubble and everyone else behind the scenes who contributed their time, genius and sheer hard work to make it happen!
You can see a full list of winners here - and photos of all of them here. To listen back to the radio show presented live from Grosvenor House by Radio Today Editor Stuart Clarkson and radio legend Pat Sharp, including loads of great interviews with guests and winners, click here.
If you won a Silver or Bronze trophy but didn't collect it on the night, please email us about arranging collection. Winners can also order duplicate copies of their trophies - email us for an order form.
Branches
The Scotland Branch event with legend of Scottish radio, Jay Crawford, coming up on Thursday 24th May has now completely sold out. Sorry, but we did warn you!
Listen
This week’s RadioTalk is our second Fellows Special, with Lisa Kerr speaking to Lord ‘Jimmy’ Gordon, founder of Radio Clyde, about the start of commercial radio, running for parliament and what he thinks radio needs to do to survive. As always, it also features another wonderful edition of David Lloyd’s Radio Moments. Enjoy!
