London Event: Meet The Professionals - come and chat!

17th April 2014

Easter is upon us, so we're getting in early this week before you disappear to enjoy the long weekend.

There's still time to sign up for next Wednesday's London Branch event, Meet The Professionals. Come and chat over a pint with radio professionals from across London - the London Branch committee will be there, and we’ve invited a bunch of other radio insiders we think you’ll want to meet

Whether you’re after some serious networking and careers advice or socialising with friends and colleagues after work, come and join us from 6pm on Wednesday 23rd April at The Old Explorer, 23 Great Castle Street, London W1G 0JA. For more info and to register, just click here.

We’re not live tweeting or recording this one but, for connecting before and after, just use #RANetworking.

Radio Academy Awards - got your ticket yet?

Will you be joining us on 12th May for the biggest night in UK radio? With only a few weeks left to go, it's time to get your ticket (and, more importantly, work out what you're going to wear)!

The Awards Ceremony, hosted by the one and only Chris Evans at London’s prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel, will be an amazing evening. 34 awards will be presented over the course of the evening, including the Gold and Special Awards, and we'll also have two exciting and exclusive live musical performances!

Tickets are now available at £200 (plus VAT) each for Academy members and £260 (plus VAT) for non-members. To request a booking form, please email us now!

Listen

In this week’s RadioTalk, presenters and producers from a variety of music radio networks interview each other about their roles and discuss what makes a successful producer-presenter partnership.

Jenny Nelson, senior producer at Classic FM and a 30 Under 30 alumnus, speaks to Tim Lihoreau, presenter of Classic FM’s More Music Breakfast show. Scroobius Pip and Dan Riedo from Xfm discuss The Beatdown, which is in the running for two Radio Academy Awards. Sam and Mark interview their producer, David Salt (another 30 Under 30), about their show on Free Radio, and then we hear what goes on behind the scenes at BBC Radio 1’s Review Show from presenter Edith Bowman and producer at Somethin’ Else, Ami Bennett.

And, of course, we’ve got more classic clips from the week in radio history with David Lloyd’s Radio Moments. Enjoy!
