Presenter, programmer and all round legend of Scottish Radio, Jay Crawford will be in conversation at the next Radio Academy Scotland Branch event at Voodoo Rooms, Edinburgh on Thursday 24th May to to talk about his life in radio.

He was one of the first voices on Radio Forth when the station launched, most notably presenting the Breakfast show, he has worked at Radio Clyde and spent the last 10 years at Real Radio.

Never one to shy away from an opinion or a colourful anecdote Jay will be talking about his life at the sharp end of radio for over 35 years.

Hosting the night will be Radio Forth’s current early riser Boogie.

Cost: members free / non-members £10 (inc VAT)

Most people working in radio qualify for free membership of The Radio Academy via Patrons or as volunteers/staff of SRA, HBA and most community affiliated stations. Although registration is required, it’s a relatively quick process.

The quiz night for the Scottish Radio Academy Branch is back.

There will be an almighty clash of Scottish Radio Brains all fighting to be crowned the best quiz team in the country and win the highly sought after Radio Academy Quiz trophy.

The event is open to all Radio Academy members and you can have a team of up to 5 members.

You can enter as many teams as you want.  The entry fee is £10 per team to be paid on the night.

Doors are open from 7pm and it all kicks off at 7.30pm

The Scottish branch of The Radio Academy would like to invite members along to an evening with John Myers in conversation with Kaye Adams.  Recently appointed Chief Executive of The Radio Academy, John Myers needs no introduction to anyone interested in radio. John’s dedicated his whole life to broadcasting, most notably working with GMG and in various roles across the industry – he’s even been known to present a show or two as well.

His reports on localness and the BBC have set the agenda for the industry and created many talking points.  When John says something about radio, people listen.

Hosting the discussion is BBC Scotland’s morning presenter Kaye Adams.
