London Event: Competitions

How to win, lose or draw listeners…..
Hours builders? Quick giveaways? Prizes? Callers or no callers? What’s the best way to be creative on the radio with competitions, promotions and giveaways…?

Capital FM’s Roberto will be joined by a panel of creative radio pros including Clare Baker (Marketing Director, Absolute Radio), Stacey Pratt (Head of Branded Content, Mediacom), Steve Taylor (Creative Commerical Director, Bauer Media) and Dave Vitty (Director of Comedy on The Chris Moyles Show, BBC).

Come and get creative with The Radio Academy as we put competitions, promotions and creativity under the microscope. We’ll look at how commercial radio stations are thinking about new and innovative ways of running branded content and station promotions that keeps the sponsor happy, as well as the listener, and how the BBC would do it. Plus, some practical ways of how best to be creative with those bits that aren’t links, music or adverts!

This week’s London branch event was hosted by BBC 6 music’s Nemone Metaxas, who spoke to Adrian Van Klaveren (BBC 5 live), Steve Ackerman (Somethin’ Else Productions), Mike Hanson (BBC 6 Music) and Jo Meek (Wise Buddah Productions) and asked what they thought about the opportunities for BBC Producers and independent production companies that the new media city in Salford will have to offer.

Audio from the evening is now available on our website.
