Keith is a veteran of radio and has been connected to radio in East Anglia for many years, he is, so to speak, one of our fore-fathers. And for this event he will be interviewed by Trevor Dann, who is not only the Director of The Radio Academy, but has been the Head of BBC Music Entertainment.

Chris Dannant will also be bringing his ‘Flashback ‘67 and Pirate Memories exhibition‘ for guests to browse.

I look forward to meeting everyone, I’m sure this will be a very popular event! All the details are below.

East Anglia is a tough area, the more time I’ve spent living here I have realised how spread out we all are in our towns, and we don’t really have one big central city (you know what I mean, sorry Cambridge)! It gives us a challenge when planning our events each year, and then trying to encourage station staff to travel can be a tough one too.

We’re hoping to soon announce our next event in Cambridge. I’ll keep the details a suprise for now, but keep your eyes & ears open in the next few weeks.

I am currently compiling a mailing list (email) of radio people in the East Anglia region who are interested in attending events. If you are, please drop an email to me at david.rees@tindleradio.com or you could join the East Anglia Branch group on Facebook! I will publicise any events through both channels.

What I’m really seeking is an ambassador for the Academy in each area of the region ie; Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex, Camridgeshire, Hertfordshire etc, these people will help encourage people to our events. With East Anglia being such a large region, it can sometimes feel like events are held very far away, and we struggle for numbers at times. If your interested in events, please get in touch.

We are hoping to hold an event soon in Cambridge for the East Anglia Branch.

Trevor Dann has offered to interview Keith Skues to mark the anniversary of Keith’s involvment in radio, and to mark the release of his new book.

We’ve agreed that it would be better to postpone the event until the publication of the revised edition of his book – currently planned for the end of April.

We are looking for a venue in Cambridge to hold the event, if you can suggest any or know any contacts who wouldn’t charge us for a venue, we’d be interested to hear from you.

Best wishes, David Rees
