It’s a very lively RadioTalk this week hosted by John Myers and WARNING… it contains some some fruity language so please don’t listen if you are easily offended! Talk hosts Nick Ferrari, Alan Brazil and Allan Beswick talk the talk on speech radio, current broadcasting regulations and the struggle of getting up early. It’s good knock about stuff and of course, the podcast also features a wonderful edition of Radio Moments from David Lloyd.

The podcast was kindly recorded by those wonderful chaps at Maple Street Studios in London, produced by Jordan Thomas and presented by Radio Academy CEO, John Myers.

Comments always welcome. Also available via itunes.

Alan B.: “The moment you start to analyse you’re knackered” Never was a truer word spoken; GREAT communicators are BORN not trained.

Time for the “suits who syndicate” (managers) to give more freedom to their more gifted staff (and get rid of the ‘yes’ boys & girls) on Music Radio.

Only pity was that James Whale could not be on the ‘panel’. He STARTED this ’style’ back in 1974 ~ I KNOW as I used to sit in his studio ‘gob-smacked’, learning from his skill with handling people and speech radio. A style ‘ILR’ beats the Beeb at?

“Honey gets more than Vinegar ever can” .. another focussed point!

Variety is good but can we have more podcasts like this Mr Myers. My tube journey was much better this evening, I would listen to a show that had these characters on the air. I might give a listen to Nick tomorrow. Where is the picture of Beswick? I really wanted to see what he looked like. Alan Brazil is my dads hero and he will enjoy listening to this.

‘Honey gets more than Vinegar ever can’ is a phrase I am going to use myself.

Cracking podcast this. John nails it with the trust issue, Allan B. nails so many other issues. Not sure about Ferrari, I’m sure his whole ‘insulting to listeners’ line could be equally applied to his own argument but you can’t have everything… well done to all.
