Scotland Branch Radio Comedy Event

Fred MacAuley (BBC Scotland) just added!

Comedy is a vital part of radio magic and still provides hours of entertainment on the wireless from everything from Just a Minute, to ever popular on-air wind-up calls, to Off The Ball – and without stations like Xfm we wouldn’t have comedy legends such as Ricky Gervais.

With the Glasgow Comedy festival back for another year and in full swing, we at the Scottish Branch feel it would be quite frankly rude not to take advantage of the opportunity to celebrate comedy on the radio.

Join host Des Clarke (Galaxy FM) as he hosts a panel featuring Richard Melvin (Dabster Productions), Phil Differ (radio comedy legend), and Fred MacAuley (BBC Scotland) to celebrate all that is humorous on the wireless and figure out just why comedy works so well on the radio.

The event will be held at comedy’s spiritual home at The Stand with doors opening at 6 for a 6.30pm sharp start and it’s FREE.

If there’s one event guaranteed to be a good laugh, it’s this one!

Contact Stuart to register.

Venue: The Stand, 333 Woodlands Road, Glasgow, G3 6NG

Date: Wednesday 31st March: 6.30pm – 7.30pm

Price: FREE

I’m a 20 year old student currently studying HND Communications and Media, where i do a wide variety of subjects such as journalism, PR and also radio. I think this would give me great experience as I am interested in that industry.
