Gerry Anderson

28 October 1944-21 August 2014

Gerry began his entertainment career as a rock and roll guitarist before joining Radio Foyle in 1984.
After establishing himself as a speech presenter, he transferred to Radio Ulster and, except for a brief spell presenting the controversial Anderson Country on BBC Radio 4, he remained with that station.
He is credited with coining the term “Stroke City” as a way of dealing with the disputed name Derry/Londonderry.
