We were joined by 150 of the industry’s finest for entertainment and cocktails at the funky and fabulous Sound London to celebrate the cream of radio promotions and marketing.
These awards recognise the very best promotion and marketing campaigns that the radio industry has to offer and this year promises to be more innovative and fabulous than ever!
The awards also recognise the work of those individuals and teams who contribute towards station sound and commercial production, so why not enter one of the categories below or come down and support your colleagues at this unique event.
Category 1: BEST LOCAL/REGIONAL ON-AIR PROMOTION
The award – This category is designed to recognise the most successful campaign within local/regional radio, transmitted in editorial time, which best uses radio creativity and techniques to promote a station, a series, a programme, a feature, a competition or promotion.

Category 2: BEST NATIONAL ON-AIR PROMOTION
The award – This category is designed to recognise the most successful campaign within national radio, transmitted in editorial time, which best uses radio creativity and techniques to promote a station, a series, a programme, a feature, a competition or promotion.

The award – This category is designed to recognise the most successful sponsorship on radio in terms of relevance to programming, use of creativity between subject and client, and success in terms of return for client.

Category 4: BEST ON-AIR IMAGING PROMOTION ON UK RADIO
The award – This category is designed to recognise the most creative imaging and/or production for a radio station that best reflects the brand values and personality of the station and shows originality and ‘stand out from the crowd’ factor.

Financial information is useful but judges will be looking for creative genius rather than budget size.

Category 7: BEST USE OF ONLINE FOR MARKETING A STATION OR NETWORK
The award – This category is designed to recognise new innovation and creativity online when marketing to recruit new listeners or promote a new service or programme or feature etc. Success should demonstrate increases in appropriate measures. Financial information is useful but judges will be looking for creative genius rather than budget size.

Category 8: BEST RADIO STATION EVENT
The award – This is designed to showcase a radio station in the best possible light, reflecting the brand values and making significant impact on the success of the station or part of the station being promoted. Judges will be looking for evidence of success which can be in the form of audience figures, feedback, PR and other measurables.

Category 9: BEST “STREET” MARKETING
The award – This category is for the clever and the cunning. “Street” here means a stunt, best use of “street or promotional” teams, a PR or viral campaign that grabs the audience’s attention. Judges are looking for low budget but high impact campaigns that made a difference to the fortunes of the radio station.

Category 10: THE 2007 RADIO ACADEMY CREATIVE GOLD AWARD
Creativity is key this year and we celebrate the best entry – from campaign, promotion or production – that most captures creativity, originality, innovation and best use of media.
