During November details are announced of the one certificate we all want to be able to hang in our downstairs loo… a Sony Radio Academy Award.

So how do you get your hands on one – or perhaps more accurately – how do you make sure your entry doesn’t let you down?

Ask anyone who has judged a Sony category and they will tell you of programmes which should have won – but how the entries let them down. With all the new categories announced this month this is the time to get your plans in place to make sure that doesn’t happen to you.

Tim Blackmore recommended ways of making the best of your material as well as how to avoid the pitfalls that could mean your entry not getting the recognition it deserves. The night was hosted by Sandy Warr.
