The Radio Academy is the only registered charity dedicated to the encouragement, recognition and promotion of excellence in UK radio broadcasting and audio production.
Masterclasses and Events
Our charitable activities include Masterclasses and other networking events which offer opportunities for everyone from the national networks to individual podcasters to discuss the broadcasting, production, marketing and promotion of radio and audio.
Branches
Through our network of regional branches we organise training and networking opportunities for people involved in the radio industry throughout the UK.
Voluntary Radio
As well as radio professionals, The Radio Academy also helps volunteers involved in Student, Community and Hospital radio, who are eligible for free Affiliate Membership of the Academy and reduced rates to attend our events.
Information and Support
Our Knowledge Bank provides invaluable advice and information on how to get into radio and how to further your career, as well as more general information about the UK radio industry.
Newsletter
Our free weekly e-newsletter, which reaches over 10,000 recipients working in or simply interested in radio, is a great way of keeping people informed about all things radio-related including events, special offers, and industry news.
RadioTalk Podcast
We also produce a weekly podcast, RadioTalk, which features topical discussion and analysis with regular guest hosts including John Myers, Lisa Kerr and Tim Blackmore MBE and guest contributions from leading figures from all sectors of the UK radio industry.
How Can I Help?
In order to fund these activities, The Radio Academy depends on support from membership subscriptions, donations and volunteers. If you would like to volunteer to help at future events, please email us with your contact details.
